  3. 3 School Zone Speed Cameras

For the safety of our students, school zone cameras are active on school days from 6:30 a.m. to 2:50 p.m.

Any driver traveling more than 10 mph over the posted speed limit in these zones will receive a ticket.

To help everyone understand the rules, here’s how the speed limits work in each zone:
Palm School Zone (in front of the Post Office):
When the lights are flashing: the speed limit is 15 mph
When the lights are not flashing: the speed limit is 25 mph
Partin School Zone:
When the lights are flashing: the speed limit is 20 mph
When the lights are not flashing: the speed limit is 35 mph
Flashing Light Schedule (for both zones):
Morning: 6:30 a.m. – 8:15 a.m.
Afternoon: 1:15 p.m. – 2:50 p.m.

How to interpret this information:
-The flashing lights signal that the school zone is active and drivers must slow down to the lower posted speed limit to ensure the safety of students arriving at or leaving school.
-When the lights are not flashing, the higher speed limit applies, but drivers should still exercise caution.
-Cameras are only active on school days during 6:30 a.m. to 2:50 p.m.

Safety is everyone’s responsibility. Please slow down, follow posted speed limits, and stay alert when driving through school zones. The safety of our children depends on it.
